Opened October 11, 1915 with a stage production of the play “When Knights were Bold”. The Majestic Theatre was a classic vaudeville house which continued showing everything from travelling stage shows to classic films.

It was remodeled and renamed Paramount Theatre, reopening on August 29, 1930 with the Four Marx Brothers in “Animal Crackers”. A new marquee was added in around 2000.

I’ve come across an early `50s photo of what appears to be a Stanford Theatre on Congress near 2nd Street, but can find no record of it anywhere. Looks to be a small marquee beneath a vertical sign. Anyone hear of it?
