@Scott. You are correct Arrowhead was always a 14 screen. The only two AMC theatres downgraded in Phoenix was Mesa Grand and Deer Valley part of the 6 theatres AMC tested in down grading screen counts while maintaining the locations lowed attendance.
This location was never a Magic Johnson location. The Magic Johnson location mentioned above was the Randall Park location that opened about the same time.
This was never a 24 screen. It has always been a 14 screen. Mesa Grand was down graded to 14 the same time Deer Valley was downgraded from 30 to 17 screens.
@CinemaEnthusiast. Yes this was the last 16 plex and rivest266 is correct in the Younge and Dundas 24 was built after (AMC commitment for over 10 years before it was built) last 13+ that was built and opened by AMC I believe was Plaza Bonita 14 in 2008. After that yes AMC focused on 8-12plexs.
I assume you mean renegotiated with a new operator. AMC and Cinemark will make a go at some of that list. Not sure if this one would reopen. If it does it would be with a local operator.
Given this was still a top national theatre they more than likely will find a new tenant. I would expect Cinemark to take it on since they virtually have no NYC presence and they have been picking up top location. Only reason no one would pick it up is if the landlord decides to convert to another use.

@CorusFTW. This theatre will probably reopen. Pre-pandemic it was routinely the top grossing theatre in the country and regal across the street was similarly busy for 13 screens. I would expect both to reopen and survival would depend on how quickly people return to movies in general or the landlord.
You are essentially correct that the colossus killed this theatre. After Ciniplex acquired the colossus the film studios favored Colossus and essentially AMC only got New universal films or move overs from Colossus. So when a Universal film was released they did extremely well for a few weeks then back to nothing. Certainly was not enough to maintain 30 screens and why they reduced down to 13 after just over a decade in business.
Mok. AMC purchased Loews back in 2005 and ran both locations. They turned this one into a move over in favor of the Helen location until they closed when the lease ran out. So they did not change any signage.
My assumption based on this article is that this theatre closed as part of AMCs lease negotiations with EPR. the article mentions that EPR can close up to 7 locations as part of their lease negotiations as a result of the COVID shutdown. This is one location owned by EPR and it was a busy location prior to its closing.

This locations name has not changed. The Remcon locations name is as stated above.

Regal is looking to have this locations lease rejected through the Bankruptcy process.
This location has been reopened by Lucas Cinemas. They took over in Feb 2020 shutdown in March and reopened in October 2020
