Harkins Theatres opened the Harkins Southlake 14 on May 26, 2006 with 2,100-seats. The theatre features such amenities as the Cine Capri (large screen), stadium seating, automated ticket kiosks, digital projection and sound, 3D projection and online ticketing. It was closed on March 16, 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was reopened on Labor Day weekend of 2020, but Harkins Theatres decided to close it permanently on November 1, 2020.

On July 3, 2021 it was taken over by the EVO Entertainment Group and renovations took place before it reopened on March 11, 2022 as the EVO Entertainment Southlake. Six screens have been converted into a bowling alley. The seating capacity in the existing 8-screens is 793-seats.

The Harkins Southlake 14 closed March 16, 2020 for the COVID-19 pandemic. It was one of the last circuits in the DFW market to reopen a location doing so on Labor Day weekend of 2020. It was quite apparent that the moviegoers were few and far between for the location. Harkins Theatres Circuit decided to permanently close the location after showtimes on November 1, 2020 making it one of many theaters closed by its circuit permanently during the pandemic.

Prominently mentioned with color photographs in a full-page financial article published in The New York Times entitled “Movie Theater Owners Want You Back” on 5/31/23. Here’s a link, which may not work for everyone: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/31/business/movie-theater-upgrade-pandemic.html
