The new action flick “Venom” ostensibly takes place in San Francisco. However, this theatre’s marquee shows up in a couple of street chase sequences. Filming was principally in SF, but Atlanta was used as well and it shows.
The theatre has reopened 2 of the 6 auditoriums to show movies. The others are still be renovated from the flood with new seats on order. Their Facebook page shows some of the devastation from the flood.
This theatre shows up prominently in the 2013 romcom “Don Jon”. There is an auditorium scene and long tracking shot down the entrance corridor and concession stand area.
Looks like a repeat of the 2008 flood that closed the theatre. Currently the water is cresting higher than back then, so the theatre is closed until further notice. The railroad museum in nearby North Freedom has been inundated again.

The exterior of this theatre shows up in the 2007 movie “Blue State.” Ostensibly set in San Francisco, the film was primarily shot in Canada.
4 of the auditoriums now are equipped with leather reclining seats.
Status should be changed to closed. Just heard for the Chamber of Commerce that the theatre is closed and up for sale.
