The Rio Theatre was opened in the early-1930’s. It was closed in 1959.
In 2025 it was occupied by a bookstore.

From the 1950s a photo postcard view of Pike Street along with the Rio in Columbus.
Google Streetview of 2013 shows the facade of the former theatre still sporting the marquee and blade sign.
The Rio Theatre opened during the early-1930s although I cannot find its opening date at all. It was closed in 1959.
Currently housing an eclectic bookstore called Down Home on the Yellowstone.“ Marquee and blade sign are still in place.
Boxoffice, Feb. 10, 1958: “COLUMBUS, MONT - Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Romans of this community have taken over operation of the Rio Theatre here from Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Moss of Billings.”
