That Civic Cener Plaza address didn’t work on the Google Map, this address is in Civic Center Plaza.
AKA:
MALL 4
MALL FOURPLEX.
Here is some rough info that could stand to be corrected or more info added to.
Owners:
1980-1985 Carisch Theaters Incorporated
1990 Excellence Theaters Corporations
1995-2003 Carmike Cimemas
I know it is no longer Carmike, they now have a 6 screen in Mankato.
Are we sure it is still open and who runs it?
Mike, thanks for the info, I found the Sonic, at 226 East Hill Street and just down the road a bit the junction of 17 and 78. I went east on the Google Satellite for a distance, but found no sign of the remains of a drive-in, so sad.
Mark, I’m guessing this is a typo, cause I don’t know of CINERAMA ever having a 164 degree screen. I’ve checked elsewhere and this theater had a 146 degree screen.
This theater showed 70mm CINERAMA from 3 December 1964 to 23 January 1984.
Do you know if there is now a multiplex on the site?
Any chance of coming up with a full address?
At any rate, thanks for adding a CINERAMA Theater to Cinema Treasures!
I followed Highway 18 from Sherdian to Willamina on the Gooogle Satellite Photo and could find no sign of a demolished drive-in, anyone know the exact address or crossroad?
Did Mr. Hibbert have anything to do with McMinnville Ammusement Company?
Nick, GREAT write up, CONGRATS! If only every theater on Cinema Treasures had a story like this.
It’s bad enough when they twin a theater, but I really hate it when they don’t even bother to change the angle of the seats after they put the wall down the middle.
I followed the Google Map Photo along Highway 64 from Siler City west to Ranseur, the next town, and didn’t really see any remains of a drive-in. Anyone else have any better luck? Better yet, does anyone know the exact location?
Please forgive me, I know this is off topic, but it’s so close I’ve just got to mention it, it’s just accross the street and a bit southeast of these theaters. If you like trains like I do, or even if you dont’t the #2 train store in the USA is waiting for you (they even have an outdoor track) it’s really a fun place to see!

It opened in the early 1970’s as a twin.

In the early 1990’s it was taken over by Carmike Cinemas.

Anyone have an address?

The drive-in held ABOUT 208 autos.
Mike, can you give an address or a crossroad, I’d like to Google Map a Photo of the drive-in site, if possible.

Can anyone find it’s address?
Can anyone come up with an address or at least the crossroads of this drive-in?
I THINK it was open from ABOUT 1950-1980, if you find out different, let us know.
I heard it had a home in the screen tower, is that true?
Can anyone come up with an address or at least crossroads?
I THINK it was open from ABOUT 1950-1975 and was owned by Martin Theaters when it closed.
PLEASE CHANGE ADDRESS TO:
REMSEN STREET & WHITE STREET.
This theater was owned by Fabian Theaters.
PLEASE CHANGE ADDRESS, IT DOES NOT WORK, IT WILL WORK IF YOU REMOVE:

The drive-in had over 800 autos the night it opened.
I followed the Google Map Photo along Highway 64 from Siler City west to Ranseur, the next town, and didn’t really see any remains of a drive-in. Anyone else have any better luck? Better yet, does anyone know the exact location?
I understand the drive-in held 190 autos.
I’ve also seen the theater listed as Angelus and Angelas?
