The Northgate Theater opened in one of Orlando’s first suburban shopping centers. The shopping plaza opened in the 1950’s and the Northgate 4 was a later addition, opening with 3-screen on December 25, 1971. The theater was originally operated by Eastern Federal Theaters, though ownership had switched over to General Cinema by 1990.
The theater was closed by Eastern Federal on May 2, 1993. It later became a church. The church appears to be abandoned as well.
Google Maps approximates the address to be roughly 5174 Edgewater Drive.
