The theater was opened by R/C Cinemas on April 6, 2001, with the hopes that it would help save the Pinellas Square/ParkSide Mall. It didn’t and the mall was completely demolished. It seems the theater briefly closed as well, only to be purchased by Regal and reopened on June 29, 2005. The theater is the only thing left from the original mall, though the whole property has been redeveloped.

Thank You
Please forgive me, I know this is off topic, but it’s so close I’ve just got to mention it, it’s just accross the street and a bit southeast of these theaters. If you like trains like I do, or even if you dont’t the #2 train store in the USA is waiting for you (they even have an outdoor track) it’s really a fun place to see!

On a side note, before this theater was built there was an old AMC Tri-Screen Threater located in the old Pinellas Square Mall(the original name of the Parkside Mall) from 1977-1999.
This opened with a preview opening on March 31st, 2001 an official opening on April 6th, 2001. It was closed down and reopened on June 29th, 2005 and RPX screen installed in 2015. 2001 and 2005 grand opening ad in the photo section. Also removed an poor quality grand opening ad as well.
