The Whitesburg Drive-In Theater, Huntsville’s first drive-in, was opened June 16, 1949. This theater is located one-half mile south of Huntsville on Whitesburg Drive and is owned and operated by Acme Investments, Incorporated, whose stockholders are Walton Fleming, president; Martha Fleming, vice-president; and Charles A. Crute, secretary-treasurer. In keeping with company policy, the latest type of equipment is maintained. The screen size was increased in 1954 to 100 x 40 feet to accommodate both wide-screen and Cinemascope attractions. Just prior to that time, playground equipment was installed in front of the screen and is available free of charge to patrons. The Whitesburg Drive-In Theater has a modern, fully-equipped Snack Bar. Mr. Robert Ross, who manages the Theater, is also manager of the Snack Bar. The screen burned down some time during May of 1980. All of the playground equipment was now gone and the lot had been bulldozed over.
This is the only movie ad I could find from the Booker Park Drive-In. I guess it was a “colored” theatre only. I checked the address and could not find any remains in a 1962 aerial. It must not have been open very long.
I just uploaded new pictures and an overview for the Fort Myers/ Northside Drive-In. I do believe that Fort Myers and City Drive-Ins where operated by the same people for a while before the City Drive-In closed in 1970. I have a picture of a movie bill with both theatres on it.
I stopped and looked at last summer. The drive-in is still standing but in bad condition. The concession stand/project booth was set on fire and destroyed. The screen tower looks decent yet. It could reopened with some work and $$$$$ !!
Little bit of history from Craig E. Parsons.

Kelly are you from the area?
I think this is it. It is on TWP 36 across from the cemetery. Looks like it was a pretty good size. 400 car maybe.

I believe it is the Wheeler Drive-In..
I have Wheeler Drive-In listed in 1965 located in Elgin, AL.
Is that one?
Uploaded new pictures and movie ads. I would like to thank somebody for the pictures of the Starlite. They were on another Fort Myers theatre page.
Here is what I have:
Open in 1955 K&K and Temple Drive-Ins.
Open In 1963-1970 Meridian Drive-In. The only one listed in the town.
My thinking is that the K&K or Temple got renamed to the Meridian.
That is all I got.
In my listings the K & K Drive-In and the Temple Drive-In were separate theatres.
Here is some information from NY drive-ins
I wonder why they did not move the other screen tower to front of the parking ramps were the original was located at one time.
Chuck is the link
This drive-in was reconfigured after 1959 because of the rerouting of HWY 7. Look at it in 1969.

I’m surprise they have not twined the Cherry Bowl yet. It looks like there is room for screen tower in back.
