Meridian also had the Hi-Way 36 Drive-In and the Meridian Drive-In.
Was closed by 1967.
Could use an address or crossroads.
More info and photos are always welcome.
Associated Amusements Co., Inc., of Salt Lake City, Utah, O.J. Hazen, President, had 5 theaters in Idaho, Nevada and Utah.
In my listings the K & K Drive-In and the Temple Drive-In were separate theatres.
Here is what I have:
Open in 1955 K&K and Temple Drive-Ins.
Open In 1963-1970 Meridian Drive-In. The only one listed in the town.
My thinking is that the K&K or Temple got renamed to the Meridian.
That is all I got.
The Meridian Drive-In was on Fairview Ave, which used to be Hwy 30 before it was moved when I-84 was built. Also, the car capacity information is identical in the theatre catalogs for both the Hwy 30 Drive-In and the Meridian Drive-In. The owners had to come up with a new name after Hwy 30 was moved sometime in the mid 1950s.
The address is 1375 E. Fairview Ave, Meridian, ID. You can see it clearly in a 1971 aerial.
Today, the property is mostly occupied by Jump Time, a gymnasium, with no trace of the drive-in remaining.
