Plainview Drive-In

The Canaan Drive-In was opened by Louis Consolini on May 27, 1950 with Alan Ladd in “Whispering Smith”. In 1960 it was renamed Plainview Drive-In, which closed in 1975. Was owned by P. Eisenberg. It is now in use as a lumber yard.

Approx. address for this drive-in was 532 Ashley Falls Road. When the drive-in was open, this was Hwy 7. Present-day Hwy 7 runs through where the drive-in stood.

This drive-in was reconfigured after 1959 because of the rerouting of HWY 7. Look at it in 1969.

This actually opened as the Canaan Drive-In Theatre on May 27, 1950. The opening film was “Whispering Smith”. Original owner was also Louis Consolini.
