The pictures says the Gem / Miller / Strand was at E. 2nd and State St. Nothing is there at that corner any longer except some empty lots or new construction.
The drugstore mentioned above is at 2nd St and Main. The picture linked above on 2/12/09 shows a building with vastly different windows up top.
Just down the street across from the Community Theater (207 W. 2nd) would have been the AMUSE-U Theater (208 W. 2nd St.)
Use the link below and you can see where the drive-in used to be. You can still see the curved lines in the lots behind the businesses. Corner of 62W and 126. The tiny white building looks to be part of the old drive-in….
Are you talking about the part of the shopping center with the stair-stepped (viewed from above) front facade? According to Google Earth, it disappeared sometime in 2004 or 2005. Historical views show it there, disappeared between 2004 and 2005, then became a parking lot.
But, in the current view, the building is back again, identical to the one in 2003 and before. Very odd…. Looks like the current view and April 2002 views are 100% identical.
This location fits all the descriptions above. At the airport, and the lot looks like it has a projection booth right in the center of it. Certainly could have been a multiple screen drive-in.
Way South on Hwy 6…..

2nd paragraph here says the same thing….

A busy couple of blocks for theater back then.
LM’s first post link doesn’t work for me. The only difference I see is they took a dash out of their pbjclibrary website name.

I’m surprised the land isn’t developed for other use yet. In THIS 1994 shot, the screen still looks to be there. Looks to be gone in mid to late 90’s.
North of town, looks like the screen is even still standing.
HERE
Small glimpse of the screen in THIS shot.
Folded down position HERE
A 1995 image HERE. You can certainly see where it started as a Twin, and the 3rd screen was added to the North of the other 2 screens.
January 1995 view HERE. Looks like nothing is left at this point.

Ground features still there. How’d you like an address on Suck Creek Rd?
HERE
The drive-in was right where the large white building is now in the center of this link:
HERE
1992 imaging shows it there.
Looks like the theater is back up and running according to their website….
Are you talking about City Nights? It’s at 5810 S. Western Blvd, not 5870. Another website says Park Terrace was at 5810 as well.
I’m guessing this is what the current view SHOULD look like

Looks like Langston Company is at that address now. A large western clothing store.

Google Earth has a couple of Panoramio photos.

Somewhere near the center of THIS page…
I’ll bet this was it, around 2300 St. Charles.

Non existent street and non existent website. Any better info on this?
