Opened on September 8, 1950 with Jean Arthur in “Arizona”, the Hilltop Drive-In was owned by Ludy Bosten into the early-1960’s. Capacity was 400 cars. It was closed at the end of the 1981 season.

All the house’s and buisness at the corner of cedar and houser street right in front of the Muscatine High School is where it was located

The Hilltop Drive In Theatre was indeed located at Cedar and Housers Streets in Muscatine. I managed it for several years in the 1970’s. Clayton and Ruby Bosten were the owners. Carbon arc projectors and a very large screen. Huge concession stand. It was a great drive in. Too bad it was torn down…Now Blue Grass Iowa has a double screen, 2016…
