Why the name Kapiolani?
The site before the cinema complex was a hotel or tavern(and bottle shop?),(called Warwick i think?).
The opening day also included the film “Tina”.
The first gardens site was resumed by the Commonwealth Government to built the Mount Hawthorn telephone exchange.
I bet people are dying to go to the Winchester Drive-in, not the motruary next door?
