The Rainbow Drive-In was opened on September 26, 1952 with Audie Murphy in “Duel at Silver Creek”. It held 300 cars and was owned at one time by P.T. Pitman. On January 8, 1970 the Rainbow Drive-In was going strong with "Marlow" and "A Few Bullets More", both rated ’M'. It was closed on June 30, 1977 when the screen was blown down.
An indoor cinema was built on the site, opening in 1978 as the Rainbow Cinema, later Rainbow Cinema 8. It closed in 2003 and has been demolished (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures)
