It was built by the J.F. Holly Construction Company to the plans of architect David O. Whilldin. The rectangular two-story brick veneer commercial building opened as the Ensley Theatre as part of the Rialto Theatres Inc. chain. It was equipped with a Robert Morton theatre organ. In 1929 it was managed by Nelson Hampton and again after 1935. It was remodeled in 1941 when it was operated by Paramount pictures Inc. thru their subsidiary R.B. Wilby. It was remodeled again around 1963.
Building still stands but was converted for use as a pharmacy circa 1965. It then became a doctors' office. In 2024 it is in use as a medical center Cahaba Care.
