As many of you know, Neal, our owner, also serves as the Director of Operations for New Morning Gallery and Bellagio Art To Wear in Biltmore Village. Unfortunately, New Morning Gallery sustained extreme damage, and Bellagio Art to Wear has been completely destroyed. We’ve been keeping our hands and hearts busy during this challenging time.
Due to the storm’s impact, The Fine Arts Theatre is currently without full power, Wi-Fi, and water, and like most in Asheville we are uncertain when we’ll be able to reopen.
Our special events for October, ENO on October 8th and MUSIC FOR MUSHROOMS on October 10th, are canceled. We’ll let you know when and if we can reschedule.
If you have purchased tickets for any canceled showtimes, we’ll reach out to you via email once we regain full power at the theatre and can access our point-of-sale system. We appreciate your patience during this time.
We look forward to welcoming you back as soon as we are able. In the meantime, please stay safe.
Do you know how at the end of Pan’s Labyrinth when you are stuck in a suspension of disbelief? You want so badly to believe that Ofelia is OK. Magic is Real. She is reunited with her parents and actually a princess. On the other hand, you are devastated. You know the truth. You want to close your eyes and make believe, but we have to face the truth and move on.
For a little while we were hoping our little cinema would have survived, but the truth is, it has not. Along with SO many all over WNC, every business on our wonderful Foundy Street, we have all been devastated and can not process how our Asheville will change.
We can only think of how lucky we are that we are safe. Our employees are safe. We have our homes and our lives. We are fortunate to have heard words of support from many of our customers, our friends, and those in the art house community. We are touched and grateful and our hearts are full.
We can’t know now what the future will hold, but we will post updates if we have any news.

Hey Jillian This is great news. I contributed this story above. I unfortunately never was in any of the Milgram Theaters in Center City but remember them well. I was in the Yeadon many times and I think they may have owned the Tower on 69thst before it was sold to Ellis Theaters.
If I remember correctly this was a RKO Stanley Warner theater prior to going porn
