The Victory Drive-In and Dixie Drive-In seem to be one and the same.
There was no drive-in at the 3016 East Victory Dr. Savannah, GA address. Although the Palm Drive-In sat just north of that location.
Plus, the Dixie Drive-In supposedly closed in 1955. And yet a 1974 aerial shows the drive-in intact and appearing operational. Which would be most unusual for a drive-in that had closed almost 20 years earlier.
If the Dixie Drive-In only lasted a few years, was it renamed the Victory Drive-In?
That would make some sense as a 1974 aerial shows the drive-in not only intact, but looking operational. This would’ve been almost 20 years after the Dixie Drive-In supposedly closed.
So, either the Dixie Drive-In lasted well into the late 1970s or it was renamed. The location given for the Victory Drive-In on its page is not correct, that was the Palm Drive-In.
Today, the property is occupied by Wayside Body Shop with no trace of the drive-in remaining. The current marquee of the body shop was not from the drive-in. The new marquee sits where the projection booth/concession stand once stood.
A closer address is 2318 N MacArthur Drive, Alexandria, LA.
Google Maps has updated their addresses and this puts it right on the property.
By 1962, the drive-in had been demolished as the screen and projection booth/concession stand are gone. It appears the the drive-in closed at least a couple years earlier. The drive-in was long gone by the time the Showtown Drive-In opened, which was a quarter-mile to the north.
Over the decades, the area has been used to park trailers and other items.
Today, the property is still open and you can see the outline and ramps. However, building a new drive-in there would be problematic given the number of power poles and power lines that crisscross the property.
From Google Street View of 2025, the marquee and both screens are still standing. From overhead, you can see the foundation of the projection booth/concession stand.
In addition, you can see remnants of the entrance and exit roads. The address points to the exit road. The entrance road is next to the marquee which is further to the southeast.
I understand that Carey Lane didn’t exist when the drive-in did, but this address is right on the property. I was not able to use HWY-169 and get close.
A 1984 aerial still shows the drive-in intact. By 1991, the drive-in had been demolished and the trailer park put in.
It appears, though I cannot be sure, that a second story was added to the projection booth/concession stand to make it a office/house. It sits in the same location and has two small windows much like a projection booth.
A closer address is 1800 Douglas Ave, Kalamazoo, MI.
This puts it right on the property.
The drive-in was still mostly intact in 1999, but by 2005 it had been completely demolished.
Today, IHS Distributing sits on the front (west) part of the property while the rest is undeveloped. However, there is no trace of the drive-in remaining.
The marquee for the distributing company sits at the same location as the drive-in marquee. But the old base for the drive-in marquee was fully removed.
It may be that parts of the marquee base survive. It’s in the same position and seems to have been modified for the church that now sits on the property.
A slightly closer address is 3005 N Slappey Blvd, Albany, GA.
This puts it on the property. The problem is that the entrance road connected to where Ledo Road is today. So, the new address puts it near where the screen once stood.
Today, a Dollar General, Wendy’s and a self-storage business sits on the property with no trace of the drive-in remaining.
A slightly closer address is 3362 W Palmetto St, Florence, SC.
This puts it right at the old entrance of the drive-in.
The drive-in is intact and operational in a 1957 aerial, but had been totally demolished by 1977.
Today, a small strip mall straddles what was the entrance and exit roads. South Stanly Drive cuts through the east side of the property. While most of what was the drive-in is covered in trees.
A closer address is 2108 S. Main St, Farmville, VA.
As previously stated by jwmovies.
This is where the entrance and exit roads were located as revealed by the 1955, 1959, and 1967 aerials.
Having said that, a 1984 aerial shows the drive-in with entrance and exit roads on Clark Street. It appears the addition of the on/off-ramps to Prince Edward Highway caused the drive-in to move their entrance/exit roads before it closed.
Today, a Quality Inn and two other businesses sit on the property with no trace of the drive-in remaining.
A slightly closer address, at least for Google Maps, is 103 North Ave, Antigo, WI.
The marker on the map is exactly where the entrance road of the drive-in connected to North Street. The entrance road ran parallel to the track for about half its length until reaching the ticket booth.
The drive-in appears intact in a 1986 aerial, though I cannot say if it was open or not. By 1998, it had been completely demolished with no trace remaining.
A closer address is 1308 Junction Hwy, Kerrville, TX.
This is the address of a McDonald’s that sits where the entrance road once stood. A strip mall now present where the ramps, projection booth, and concession stand once stood.
A 1995 aerial shows the drive-in without the screen and projection booth. By 2004, it was totally gone with no trace remaining.
A 1958 aerial shows no screen in place. Perhaps the screen was getting replaced, but it is clearly not there.
A 1984 aerial also does not show a screen, but there are cars on the ramps which may mean it was used as a flea market after it closed as a drive-in. By 1997, it had been completely demolished.
There is one remnant of the drive-in remaining today, the entrance road. Which runs parallel to Clark Street on the north side as it connects to Price Lane.
A closer address is 1465 Strasburg Rd, Front Royal, VA.
The screen and most of the drive-in had been demolished by 1997, save for the projection booth/concession stand. It lasted until at least 2007, but by the following year had been demolished as well.
Today, Blue Ridge Storage sits on the property with no trace of the drive-in remaining.
A closer address is 430 Remount Rd, Front Royal, VA. As mentioned previously by jwmovies.
By 1984, the drive-in had been demolished. Today, a bowling alley along with a few other businesses occupy the property.
The only hint that the drive-in existed is the trees which form a triangle to the north of the bowling alley. The trees cover the ramps and it retains the outline of that part of the drive-in.
Just about every remnant of the drive-in has been wiped out. Only pieces of the exit road remain.
On the side of The Listening Room, which sat next to the entrance of Wal-Mart, was a mural of the Twilite marquee and not the marquee itself.
By 2016, the business had changed hands and the mural was removed.

A 1999 aerial shows the drive-in intact, but clearly closed and in poor condition.
By 2003, it had been completely demolished. Today, several homes sit on the property with no trace of the drive-in remaining.
The remains of the drive-in could be seen as late as 2002. By 2005, the entire area had been cleared.
Today, the property holds several townhouses with no trace of the drive-in remaining.
A closer address is 282 N Webb Rd, Grand Island, NE.
This puts it right on the only surviving remnant of the drive-in, where the entrance road connected to North Webb Road.
The drive-in was demolished by 1993 and the property sat undeveloped until just before 2006.

The Candlewood Suites have been built on the property, wiping out all remaining traces of the drive-in.
All that remains is the outline, ramps, remnants of the entrance road, the foundation of the ticket booth, and the bottom part of the marquee.
