This theater was located in the eastern storefront of the old Grand Opera House, a large three-story brick building constructed sometime between 1887 and 1892.
The 1905 map shows a bowling alley in this space, and notes that ‘This Building Old and in Poor Condition’. It is possible that the building was extensively remodeled around this time, because the architecture looked more appropriate to the early 1900’s.
The theater appears on the 1909 Sanborn. This was not a success, and the 1914 map shows the space used as a potato warehouse. This building was still in use in 2012, although the upper stories appeared vacant, and the rear section of the original reverse ‘L’ (which had been retail and was derelict) had been demolished. The entire structure was demolished in 2014.
