The Idaho Film Society opened in the old Greyhound Bus station in February 2024. The 53-seat Station Theater, shows classic, cult, independent films and beyond. It’s for the 21 and older crowd, since adult beverages are served.
Founded by Aidan Brezonick, on December 14 and 19, 2023, fund raisers for IFS were held at the Egyptian Theater. Showing was the 1983 film, “A Christmas Story” with the attendance of Peter (Ralphie) Billingsley, an IFS board member and resident of Eagle.
The IFC says “The IFS Movie Theater (along with our ten curators) will hand-pick films from around the world and across genres six days a week. All screenings will feature a variety of discussions, special guests, and Q& as to grow and expand our appreciation for diverse cinema in Boise”.
“Our production stage will be the largest in Idaho. Fit for all manner of production sizes; from student films to agency shoots”.
“No longer will Idaho productions have to drive to Salt Lake City or Portland for gear pickups. With our on-site rental facility, we can keep production costs down and tied to Idaho”.
At the nonprofit IFS, volunteers are encouraged and members are accepted for a yearly fee, perks included.
