The Sanborn Maps of 1912 list an unnamed theatre at this location and 1912 and later directories list it as the Cozy Theatre and then the Tracy Theatre.
According to Motion Picture News, June 19, 1915, while operated by Fred Tracy, the name was changed to the Comic Theatre where only comedy films would be shown.
Motion Picture News on July 10, 1915, reported Ernest Noble of Idaho Trust and Savings Bank purchased three of the five theaters in Boise. They were the Comic Theatre, Boz Theatre and Isis Theatre.
According to the Evening Capital News, in 1917 Herman J. Brown of the Inland Amusement Co. purchased the theatres from Mr. Noble. Mr. Brown also owned the Majestic Theatre, thus giving him control of four Boise theatres except the Pinney Theatre.
