The original address was Southern Avenue and Charles Street. The American Theater was an early movie theater which advertised as “Photoplays That Are Sure to Please - Features and Comedies”.
It could be that today a building at the corner of Brownsville Road and Charles Street, in use as Mt. Oliver Municipal Building may be the former theatre.
