Willie Walker Jr. has run the cinema since it opened in 2011.

“I’ve had a good run. I’m at peace with it,” he said.

“I’ve never budged on my prices, I don’t care how bad things got,” Walker explained. “The ticket prices are always going to stay the same, it never changed, and people have thanked me for that.”

Patrons continued to thank Walker as he greeted them in the lobby as he directed them to grab one of many movie posters that once graced the walls of the place.

Walker’s entire working career has been in the theater. He was Mitchell Theatres first employee in 2005. He even met his wife, Adriana Blue, while working at a cinema in West Texas 38 years ago.

“My kids grew up in the theater, my grandkids,” Walker said. “I can’t tell our history without mentioning the theater. “

Members of the community said the same.
