The Belton Mini Theater is the first movie theater to open in Belton since the closure of the Dixie Theatre in 1953 (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures). The Belton Mini Theater opened its doors on June 11, 1971 with Gordon Eastman in “The Savage Wild” and was operated by the husband-and-wife team of Ray and Edith Beeman. It was later renamed the Belton Theatre less than three years later.

Unfortunately, this theatre did not last for long, and it closed suddenly later in the 1970’s. The building stands vacant in 2024.
