Globe Theatre

This theatre appears on the 1913 map, in an oddly-shaped 4-story brick building which it shared with a Moose Lodge. This structure replaced a small wooden store sometime after 1895.

Due to the angle of the side street and existing buildings, not only was the fa├žade very sharply angled, but the side and interior walls were slanted. The auditorium featured a generous balcony and a stage at the rear. It had closed by 1926.

By 1949, the space had been taken over by a restaurant, and probably sometime in the 1980’s it was replaced by a senior center.

Not that it likely has anything to do with the theater, but in 1917 the Moose constructed a large building at 306-308 Bedford St.
