The Riverside Theatre opened in April 1938 as a neighborhood theatre. Loews took over the theatre in the early-1970’s, and was twinned. Loews closed the theatre in the early-1990’s, and an independent operator ran it as a $2 theatre for the next couple of years.
The Riverside Theatre was demolished in 1994 to make way for a Walgreens drug store.

The Riverside was owned by the local chainlette called Community Circuit – headed by Bert Lefkowich. Loews bought out Community Circuit in the mid 1970s and twinned it. I think Loews ran it til it was demolished.

The Riverside Theatre in Cleveland was listed in the “New Theaters” column of The Film Daily for April 9, 1938. The item named the architect only as Burrows. This must have been George Howard Burrows, architect of at least five other theaters in north central Ohio.
