May 1947 was a busy time for drive-in movies in Lewiston. The Auto-Vue Drive-In, operated by Mary Pulver, opened on May 22, 1947. This was ten days after a competing drive-in, the Nature-Vue Drive-In, opened. At the time Mrs. Pulver owned all of the Lewiston and Clarkston indoor theaters. After Mrs. Pulver passed away in 1950 Harry Wall, her son-in-law, took over the operation of the chain.
The Auto-Vue Drive-In was later condemned by the State Highway Department for the widening of U.S. Highway 95 and closed after the 1953 season. Mr. Wall, who was a state senator in Idaho from 1944 to 1950, sold the chain and retired in 1979.
The approximate site today of the former drive-in is the headquarters of the Idaho Transportation Department, located at 2600 Frontage Road.

I believe Mr. Walls' theatre chain was called Liberty Theatre Corp.
Was that the drive-in in North Lewiston?
The address would’ve put the Auto-Vue and the Natur-Vue side by side. A 1955 aerial of North Lewiston shows what may be the remains of a drive-in on the north side of the highway.
But that area is now under HWY 95.
