Opened on September 30, 1921, the Liberty Theater had two small towers with an arched section between them. A large window in the arch, and windows in the towers have been covered with ugly concrete bricks. The rest of the facade is vintage, with the exception of the lobby, which suffered an unfortunate update sometime in the 1970’s from the looks of it. The large vertical sign bearing the name of the theater looks at least 20 years older than the marquee. It was closed in March 2005.

Hello, my name is Cristina and I’m a junior at Clakrston high school. I’m writing a paper on historic places in Lewiston Idaho and i wanted to write it on the Roxy theater or the liberty theater. one huge problem I have is that I cant get a hold of the owners of those places so I can go and take pictures and interview them so if any one could/would help me on finding a way of communicating with them that would be great and much appreciated thank you <3 my email is

The Liberty Theater Preservation Alliance maintains a web site with a history of the theater and several (small) vintage photos.
There is a mistake in the news clipping Ron Pierce cited. The architect was Emery T. Epling, who is also credited with the design of Lewiston’s Roxy (originally Theatorium) Theatre.
