The Astor Theatre was opened February 4, 1929 with William Haines in “Excess Baggage”. It was equipped with a Page organ. It was soon taken over by Warner Brothers who operated it in the early-1930’s. By 1941, it was known as the New Astor Theatre. In the 1943 edition of Film Daily Yearbook it was listed as the Astor Theatre (Closed).
