Located in the Birmingham inner-city district of Aston Cross, to the north of the city centre. The Aston Cross Picture House was opened on 15th May 1913. Designed by architect Archibald Hurley Robinson, who was a director in the operating company. By 1927 it was operated by C.D. Cinemas Ltd.
Taken over by the Associated British Cinemas(ABC) chain in January 1929.
It was closed by ABC on 3rd August 1963. It was then re-opened by an independent operator screening Asian (Bollywood) films. This use lasted for several years. After closing, the building stood derelict for several years, before being demolished in the early-1980’s, when the entire area was re-developed.

This Cinema was built and on the screen in around 8 weeks from the foundations being laid… No messing in those days..
