The First Avenue Theatre was opened in 1949. It was showing "Bridge Under the Sun" on December 1, 1961 with admission sixty cents for adults and twenty-five cents for kids. During the 1970’s it was run by Chris McGuire Cinemas.

It closed as a Chris McGuire Theatre whatever that was.

The McGuire Sisters bouht the theaters from Lam Amusement Co.. They defaulted on the loan and the Lam’s took bck over the theaters.

The 1973 Rome City Directory list the address as 200 E First Ave, Rome, GA. It appears that the building has been demolished.
