Corso Cinema

Opened around 1920 in the suburb Tangs Noirs in the district of Molenbeek, that is why it first operated under that name or simply called Cinema. It became Novelty Cinema in 1922 and then in the 1930’s was renamed Corso Cinema.

In the 1950’s and 1960’s the programming was much alike the Royal Palace Nord Cinema, two progammes a week, two films on each programme, on weekends family films, westerns, and in the week horror or popular movies. Important films shown there include “Jailhouse Rock” in 1959, “Loving You” and “King Creole” in 1960, and “Mistress of Dracula”. Then in 1968 it closed and was demolished due to the work of the Brussels Metropolitan.
