This theatre opened on October 14, 1937 and closed in 1958. A modern store block currently occupies the site and there is a computer store at the former theatre’s specific address.

That’s right. The old Bellvue became the Lux. My parents would often take me to the long gone theatre on many a Saturday night. I have very fond memories of the theatre.

This theatre was owned and operated by B & F Theatres, a Famous Players Theatres partnership situation. Sam Bloom and Sam Fine operated 20 luxurious theatres during the theatre boom in the suburban areas of Toronto!!
