Capitol Theater

The Capitol Theater opened on September 23, 1929 with Jack Oakie in “Street Girl”. It was destroyed in a suspicious fire in 1968.

A Post Office now occupies the site where the former Capitol Theater was located.

This theater was directly across Chestnut Street from the Victory Theater.

The Capitol Theatre opened its doors on September 23, 1929 with Jack Oakie in “Street Girl” along with Disney’s Mickey Mouse in “The Barnyard Battle”, and the Educational comedy “The Bride’s Relations”.
