Built as a Methodist church in 1903, it was converted into a cinema in a restrained Spanish Atmospheric style, opening on October 7, 1932 with Edmund Lowe in “Chandu the Magician”. It catered for an African-American audience. It was closed in 1975. It now operates as a church again.
