Mid `60s Vintage Kodachrome Slide credit Martin Plucinski.

Located adjacent to the Princess Theatre(it has its own page on Cinema Treasures), the Morgan Theatre was opened in 1936. It was still open in 1978.

It is now named Court Street Building and has been given a new facade.

Mid `60s Vintage Kodachrome Slide added credit Martin Plucinski. Narrowed down as Morganfield’s Morgan Theatre based on P'Pools Auto Supply which was another Morganfield business. Presumably located on Morgan Street, but a lot has been cleared away over the years.

The Morgan Theatre, 122 N. Court St., was built in 1936 by the Alhorn family. It was adjacent to the Princess Theatre, which was open as early as 1915 and later housed P’Pool’s Auto Supply. Both of these buildings are still standing. This information is included in my book, “Morganfield Businesses 1811 – 1969.”
