Saw the 115pm show of “Deadpool” here today. Regency sunk some money here again. The THX and Atmos rocked as usual. Hands down the best cinema around.

Hateful 8 would have looked fantastic in 70mm on that screen

@Don, sorry for my late reply here. The answer is no. I saw TFA at the El Cap on that Saturday and went to the Village theater the next day. I still stand by my comment that the Village has the best THX and Dolby Atmos installation anywhere. All they need now is to get the Christie Dolby vision projector there.

Just came from the 1250pm showing of Star Wars here. @giles, this is THE Dolby Atmos cinema in Los Angeles. Light years ahead of the El Capitan.

Saw “Force” here yesterday. The co branded Christie\Dolby vision laser projector looked good. The blacks were true deep black. They did run a trailer for the Dolby vision system, but not for Atmos. As for the sound, it was lacking the oomph on the low end. To me, it came across somewhat flat. Still looks like Regency’s Village theatre is the go to for Dolby Atmos.

I paid a visit to this complex today for an aborted attempt to see “Heart Of The Sea.” Basically, this is a standard run of the mill complex. Sadly, all the screens, except 7 which is the so called “ArcLight Widescreen”, are locked 1.77:1 or 1.85:1 aspect ratios. No side masking to be seen in any of the auditoriums. I was told they have “top and bottom masking.” I was in cinema 1 which was supposed to feature Dolby Atmos. The screens have some noticeable distortion when a ‘Scope image is projected. It is noticeable on the bottom of the image, which makes it look like the screen is “sagging” in the center. For event movies, I will continue to patronize Regency’s Village theatre instead. I did snap some pix of auditoriums 1 and 7 (which are the two “Dolby Atmos” cinemas.

By far, this is the worst XD auditorium I’ve been to. This cinema was supposed to have Dolby Atmos installed. Went to see Avengers 2 there today to experience Atmos in the XD. The movie failed to be presented in Atmos and instead was shown with the standard 2.0 stereo sound that Cinemark is known for. Should have known that something was terribly wrong when no Dolby Atmos trailer was shown. Will not return here again. Stick with the Regency Village for Atmos.

Went to see Shaun the Sheep at this place today. It reopened back in mid July. All Cineplex odeon decor is totally gone. AMC said there is more work to be done. I took some cellphone pics.

This theatre is currently closed. As small signs state in the box office, improvements underway. And I could tell that is indeed the case.

It finally happened. The IMAX auditorium is no more here. The 70mm projector is gone. Cinemark says the space will become a “XD” screen. RIP IMAX 2001-2014.

Sorry to say, the days of 70mm IMAX here are just about numbered. Cinemark is about to convert it into their so called “xD” auditoriums. Overall, the presentation quality here has really gone downhill.
