The centre had a phased opening but was screening films by March 2016 when The 5th Wave, Creed and The Assassin were on the bill. A programme of horror films was screened the following month. It temporarily closed in 2020, presumably due to Covid-19, reopening on 12 July 2021.
B & M Bargains moved long time ago to Parsonage Retail Park. Seems to be occupied by Wigle Dance Studio on Google Street View with a domestic appliance store at the front which is shuttered.
More like a hotel than a cinema, certainly not my cup of tea. Didn’t notice any screens on the ground floor incidentally as it is boarded up, the entrance to the screens appear to be on the first floor.

Seats are generally a fiver with screenings every one or two weeks. Seasonal films in the run up to Christmas 2024 at £5.50 with screenings of Strictly during November for £3.50. Website address is https://theregentblackpool.co.uk/cinema
Woodys and Kelley’s Irish Bar are presumably occupying the ground floor although I couldn’t find either open on a recent visit. The back entrance down The Strand is boarded up which ties in with the previous notification that the theatre occupy the upstairs.
Not sure if Blackpudlians would be prepared to pay these prices. £16 for Saturday evening IMAX experience, although you can get the basic presentations for £9.
This building is on The Mall opposite the bus station, St Mary’s Street is further down. The cinema was probably named after the Imperial Hotel which was further along Marcus Street. Photo of programme for 1963 added today.
In 1974 the Down Recorder reported that owner Mr H. Breen had to temporarily close the cinema owing to over-zealous teenagers who smashed up seats and caused other damage during a screening of Carry On Girls.

Trilogy nightclub as of October 2025. Although address is 29 Dean Street, the entrance is actually on Brick Street.
Needless to say the whole building had gone by August 2011 according to street view with the land still vacant as of August 2023.

According to the Newry Democrat the Savoy was built on the site of Walker’s Mill which was destroyed by fire at the end of 1925.

Part of the building appears to be in use as a boxing club. Hate to be pedantic but it’s Mitchel with one l.

In the period up until closure the Queens was showing “x-rated” films. Justine the Virtuous and Sex with a Smile was the last programme.
Cinema opposite was most likely the Electric Picture Palace for which an entry has been made on this site.

Site occupied by Emlyn Hughes House, HQ of the Furness Building Society. There is a statue of Emlyn, who was born in the town, directly outside.
