Located on The Mall, opposite the bus station in Newry, County Down. The Imperial Cinema is listed in the 1931, 1940 and 1954 Kine Year Books with Frank Murtagh as the operator. He was still operating it in 1966. I’m afraid I know nothing more about this cinema, which had closed by 1980. It appeared to be disused by the time of my visit to the town in November 1998.

This building is on The Mall opposite the bus station, St Mary’s Street is further down. The cinema was probably named after the Imperial Hotel which was further along Marcus Street. Photo of programme for 1963 added today.
