I remember this theater pre-dates cityWalk! It was sitting there by itself with the parking deck across a road right now in front of the theater. You had across the road to get to the parking deck. That’s all that was up there. anyone else remember?
Why were the other houses that are non-premium converted to “plush rockers“? I totally get that they don’t want to reduce the seating amount with recliners, but honestly in today’s world people just want to sit in recliners while they’re watching a movie. I end up going to the six and the eight because of this. They really should’ve went with recliners. And the rest of this theater really need to remodel the hallways and bathrooms. Look like it’s 1992.
I cannot stand some of the downstairs theaters. They are set up in this old-school fashion where the screen is way up and you have to look up to see it. So you’re not looking directly straight into the projection, which is annoying for your neck. Not every downstairs theater is like this, but I think at least two of them are
I love Sunsheild Tinting. I go there for all my tinting and I’ve been there for about five different cars already. They are really great. However, I don’t see this place being big enough for a movie theater, but I guess it could be.
This theater is featured in the Netflix show monsters the Lyle and Erik Menendez story. They go and buy tickets here and you could see activity inside. It is in the first episode.
When is this theatert going to be renovated fully… with recliners etc. It was great when it was Arclight but that was a different time… It would be nice if it had a specialty screen and recliners.
What I like about this theater is that it is not only recliners but stadium also. Many older theaters such as Cinemark NoHo and Town Center 8 went from sloped to stadium. This one was stadium already and recliners were added to it, which makes it perfect. Since they added recliners I do not frequent the AMC 16 any more. I rather be here or the 8. The 1, besides adding Prime and Dolby Cinema hasn’t been touched in decades… they need to do a big renovation there for sure!
This theater is no longer called “Dine In”. It never was anyway.. you always had to pick your food up at the concessions counter. AMC finally shed the “Dine In” title to avoid confusion. The name of the theatre in this forum needs to be changed.
This theater has something odd. The outside box office windows are covered over and you have to purchase tickets inside. Also the ticketing kiosks have metal over their screens and are also out of service.
Good news! Theater 16 is being renovated and RECLINER SEATS are being added! Hopefully and probably this will be the case for all auditoriums but probably one by one. It is great this is being done as this theatre has become dated.
I hope they renovate and open the closed rooms. It is a waste not to have films in there. They are scatted throughout the theater and not just a closed off section.
What I don’t understand… Pacific theaters operates this and Sherman Oaks 5 sub par theaters…. But owns Arclight which is one of the best chains there is… Seems strange they would let the ones that hold their name become outdated.
This theater has 9 auditoriums actually dark and locked up. Very odd as even if they ran them open before the renovation at least they’d be making money.
I hope they open and renovate the closed rooms although they are spread around the building, not just in one area.
They need to improve reclining as the setup lets you see heads on the bottom of the screen.
Plus they oddly have a large drink selection but not a freestyle.
This could be a nice new big modern house, however it really needs to be modernized as far as grounds and building.

Another year since my last comment and this place, just sits there.
It doesn’t seem like they’re gonna modernize the theater in anyway. It’s probably not here for the long-term. I miss Arclight.
Does anyone have pictures of the inside of the theater?
Tesla delivery! I had mine delivered to my house. No theater was harmed in the process!
This theater is sitting with the same marquee as the day it closed. I can imagine the rodent fest going on inside.
It’s just not needed any more.
One of very few theaters with recliners in the IMAX auditorium. Finally!!
Will this be renovated anytime soon with Recliners, etc?

Does anyone know when this theater is going to open or if it will? Maybe they will not open it with the opening of the new Topanga Theater?

Does anyone know if the 2 upstairs theaters ever had balconies? It looks like it.

What happened to the 2 closed screens and why did they close them?

When did it stop being a 21 plex?
How is this place still open as a first run house? With expensive consessions! It is in the shape of a second run house.
No recliner upgrades. The armrests don’t even go up. No stadium seating even.
It really needs to go.
Was this house ever operated by Carmike??? There is a sign on the exit door about taking alcohol outside the theater and it says Carmike on the sign!
