In a historic first for Los Angeles county, Regal intends to bring RPX to this theater, according to a poster in the lobby that not only shows renders of what the renovated lobby and hallway will look like, but also mentions the theater getting “state of the art 4DX, IMAX, and RPX experiences”.
No mention of ScreenX, though…
I sincerely hope the IMAX will be installed in theater 3. It is the best auditorium to house a big screen. There is so much screen real estate in that one, they could even put in a large 1.43:1 in there and it would fit, but whatever they do will be better then those postage stamp size screens they currently house in auditorium 1-3. If they are putting in a RPX, hopefully it will be in 1 and keep the Atmos.
@RobertAlex, RPX is installed with Dolby Atmos in most auditoriums. Yes some locations don’t have atmos but the recent installations have atmos
Auditoriums 1 (Atmos), 2, 3, and 10 are currently closed.
Auditorium 1 has been upgraded to RPX with HDR by Barco and Dolby Atmos (congrats, RobertAlex), and auditorium 2 has been upgraded to IMAX with Laser (sorry, RobertAlex). Auditoriums 3 and 10 are currently closed.
Current capacity is 2,149.

Thanks, nothingbutcinema, good to see they kept the Atmos, however it is a shame that they did not put the IMAX in 3, it is by far the largest auditorium in terms of potential screen size.
I wonder if the IMAX screen will even exceed 50 to 55 feet. The existing screens in 1 and 2 were very small, maybe 40ish feet plus.
Auditorium 3 has (also) been upgraded to RPX. Auditorium 10 is currently closed.
Both RPX theaters support HDR by Barco and Dolby Atmos, with Magnify 8 support in select rows during select films.
Current capacity is 1,915.

This is a rare Regal with 2 RPX screens
