The original Edisonia Theatre opened in the Ellicott Square building on 19th October 1896(with 72 seat).the Ellicott Square building is still there(and is now heritage listed).
Movie screenings ceased in(1897?). That building is still is still there(it is now a souvenir by store and a liquor store. A historical marker about the Vitascope Hall was placed on the footpath outside it in 2019.
The land was originally Lambton Colliery in 1863. A sanitary depot from 1913 to 1938. Closed on 26th June 1985 with “Porky’s Revenge”, and “Night patrol”
The snack bar and projection building was destroyed by a fire in 1993.
The video library in that old dome operated inside there for 40 years. I think there might still some old video library posters visible on the 2 front doors?
Closed in 1983? The video library in the former come concession building closed in(January?) 2023(possibly the last operating video library in Western Australia?). The building is currently still for salei think(after the owners try selling 10,000 DVDs(and Blu-rays?)?
The former gardens site is now the carpark for the Water Coporation(263 Fitzgerald Street. The site of the theatre might the Water Coporation building?
Is that a real lighthouse next to the marquee(doss the light inside work?)? Is that lighthouse still there?
