The Lake Drive-In was opened in July 1949. It was operated by Lionel Semon, who also operated the slightly larger Pueblo Drive-In which had opened in 1948. It was located at Lake Avenue and Maryland Avenue (today known as W. Pueblo Boulevard).
The Lake Drive-In closed in the late-1980’s and was demolished several years later. The property has not been redeveloped.

The LAKE DRIVE-IN in the late 50’s was owned by Pueblo Drive-in THEATRES which also ran the Pueblo Drive-in in that same city. L.R. Semon was President of that company. Lake Drive-in parked 500 cars the same as the Pueblo Drive-in.
Address for this drive-in was 3000 Lake Avenue.
The July 23, 1949 issue of BoxOffice provided an approximate opening date:
PUEBLO – An overflow crowd attended the opening of the Lake Drive-In on U.S. 85 south of the city. Manager Donald Mayne reported parking ramps were inadequate to accommodate the motorists who attended and many parked in the area away from car speakers where they could see but not hear.
Boxoffice, Jan. 15, 1949: “PUEBLO, COLO. – L. R. Semon and W. H. Mayne plan to build a second drive-in theatre here. The two men now operate a $125,000 open air theatre on the city’s northwestern edge. The new ozoner will be smaller than the present drive-in.” That larger drive-in was the Pueblo Drive-In.
