Finucane Gardens

The Finucane Gardens (also called Finucane Open Air Cinema) opened in(mid or late-1960’s for the BHP port(and mine?) workers, and closed in(1980’s or 1990’s?) when BHP closed the port, and the equipment moved to the Police and Citizens Club in Collie.

The site may have been demolished(date unknown?), and may now only entrance and exit roads remaining?

There is three photos of the drive-in at the website www.ammpt.asn.au/cinema-web-esperance-to-fremantle/#finucane .

This was definitely only an open-air cinema and not a “drive-in”. I’ve found it in a 1974 aerial and there was no room for cars at all. Oh yeah and its since been demolished.
