Here are my pictures of the Cordele Drive-in from March 2012.
This is one of the best theaters that I’ve ever come across. The drive-in is in excellent condition for being closed for about thirty years. The screen doesn’t appear to have any damage and the marquee has held up surprisingly well.
According to a 1915 Sanborn map, there was a closed movie theater (“picture show” according to the label) located at about 2128 Main. The map also shows two more “picture shows” on Howard between the library and Main Street.

It was located on the west side of Main Street just south of the intersection with Liberty Street.
It looks like “Strand” to me. Cool find!

Here is a picture I took in July 2011. It looks like this place is once again used as a theater, albeit for live performances.
A 1918 Sanborn map shows a Crystal Theatre on the property, with an abandoned movie theater immediately to the south.
This theater appears on the 1913 Sanborn map, but was gone by the 1922 edition.
