Does anyone know the capacity of each auditorium. I know the IMAX is 654 and Screen 1 is 215. My movie was in IMAX and the IMAX screen looks like RPX or Dolby Cinema.
This theatre reminds me of the AMC Loews 34th Street and AMC Loews Kiips Bay before renovations. Still got the Loews brand inside.
I’ll post a picture of the IMAX screen when I get home next week.
Over my visits to the theatre during different years, never saw the theatre at Universal crowded, usually empty. My guess AMC didn’t want to spend money on upgrading the Orlando location. They did a renovation in the Universal Hollywood location. Downtown Disney Springs AMC is much more busier than Orlando, They now have reserved seating in all auditoriums.
The imax theatre has the new seats like Lincoln Square and has 12 channels sound. The auditorium was built with thr same Lincoln square screen. Unless there upgrade the IMAX picture to laser
My recent visit when I saw the Equilizer they turn the flood lights on during the credits. I yelled at the manager. He dosen’t care. I reported him to Regal.
Stay out of theatre 8 and 9, those screen do pillarbox at the top of the screen when in scope. Look at fandango, they say the screen number or the Regal app, if you see the seat map with the aisle in the midgle, it 8 or 9. Mostly, the films that are about to be dropped go in their, with the exception of Blindspotting last week. I saw that film at the Alamo Drafthouse, they respect the paying public,.
SDDS was gone eight years ago when digital projection came. The only digital formats are Dolby Digital and Datasat Digital Sound. Unfortunately Loews never renewed the THX license in the Loews auditorium.
Lincoln Square plus the Loews Orpheum Screen 7 and Loews Village VII screen 3 were once certified THX sound systems.
For the first time, AMC Fantasy will be competing with the REGAL Lynbrook 13. Jurassic Park at both locations. The bad part AMC new seats they added a few years ago don’t recline. Regal Lynbrook will have full recliners.
It looks like when Lynbrook opens next week, the two theatres are going to compete. Malverne business might hurt because of the more comfortable seating at Lynbrook. Won’t You Be My Neighbor will be play dating with each other.
Cineaplis had started the fourth renovation of this theatre. Now getting new recliners. Level 2 is now complete, now their working on Level 3.
This is the only theatre in its 28 year history to go thru 4 renovations. Clearview Cinemas in the late around 1999, Bow Tie Cinemas in 2014 and now Cineapolis in 2018. I posted a couple of photos of the new redesigned theatres.
The theatre still has it own concession and restrooms. This location was like the old Cinema 1 and 2 were you can’t theatre hop. The carpeting still has it original NY2 or NY1 on the rug. For today’s movie going enjoyment, the seats are tight and not as comfortable.
Just added photos of the Loews Auditorium now know as Dolby Cinema at AMC. Theatre has 297 seats based on the ushers timetable.
IMAX refreshment stand under renovation for about a month. If you buy refreshments you have to use the main stand on the 2nd Floor.
Dolby Cinema (LOEWS) opening within the next two weeks according to Lincoln Square employees
I heard rumors that Century 21 is closing and the Alamo taking over the 3rd floor with 7 more screens
The two largest screens 12 and 13 are not reserved seating. THE RPX theatre did not get the Regal Buttkicking Recliners.
