I uploaded photos from 2009 showing it as a Star theater. I don’t think it was branded as AMC until sometime around 2015?

nsortzi commented about Romeo Theatre on Dec 16, 2023 at 9:53 pm

The Romeo Theatre was built in the late ‘30s. It closed in 1967 and operated as the nightclub Mother’s from July-August 11, 1968. The MC5 were one of several bands to play the club during its brief existence. After Mother’s closed due to public pressure, the building became a nightclub again called Kaleidoscope, which lasted a year. It was then left vacant until being demolished for a bank parking lot on September 13, 1973. The correct address is 145 South Main Street.

From the Images of America book Romeo: Frank Parker operated the Palace Theater at 117 South Main, just in front of the alley. The first movie theater in Romeo at the time, the Palace Theater featured silent movies and vaudeville acts. It was later advertised as the Juliet Theatre, c. 1937.
