June Lockhart who was in the movie “Meet me in St Louis” which had it’s world premiere at this theatre in St. Louis in 1944, turns 100 today(25th June 1925 - 25th June 2025).
The building was originally a general store built and opened in 1903. Part of the building was also used for a Noh theatre(Japanese dance and drama). Bought in 1913 to converted to a open air cinema in 1913. Heritaged listed on the National register in 1997.
Address is Murat Road. Located 6 kilometres (4 miles) north of Exmouth. Operated by the Australian Navy since 1999 in cooperation with the USA military.
Possibly still the entrance road and ticket booth(along the left hand side of the Liberty (Hyden Travel Stop) petrol station, and one ramp and the snack bar/projection box building behind the petrol station, and the Wave Rock Motel.
The original Edisonia Theatre opened in the Ellicott Square building on 19th October 1896(with 72 seat).the Ellicott Square building is still there(and is now heritage listed).
Movie screenings ceased in(1897?). That building is still is still there(it is now a souvenir by store and a liquor store. A historical marker about the Vitascope Hall was placed on the footpath outside it in 2019.

150 cars(1974 to 1988). 500 cars(1988). Exhibitor was City Theatres(1974 to 1988), and Hoyts (1988).
The concession /bio box building is still there(and possibly the ramps, and entrance and exit roads too?).

The large Ariel on this site might be a Telstra(and Optus?) telephone, and mobile phone tower(and a microwave tower too?)?
The gates(and fences?) are still there. I think the snack bar/bio box building has been converted into a house after being sold in 2023?

The Hoyts cinema built next door to replace the demolished Ambassadors Theatre also used the dress circle part of the Royal Theatre as cinema 4.
Is that a real lighthouse next to the marquee(doss the light inside work?)? Is that lighthouse still there?

I bet people are dieing to go to that site now that it is a cemetery. 😁
