I also don’t see much of a point in 4DX here, and I’d much rather see them add RPX, but I think IMAX is pretty much covered by the nearby Regal Alhambra Renaissance
Regal intends to add RPX here, according to the theater’s Instagram page. This is the second theater in Los Angeles county that will have RPX, with the first one being Regal Sherman Oaks Galleria.
It only has 21 screens now, since the IMAX building has closed. The theater still has “IMAX” because Regal upgraded one of their existing auditoriums in the main building, but the screen is much smaller than the original IMAX.
After more than five years of efforts to sell, this theater was just bought by a not-yet-disclosed theater operator. Laemmle will continue to operate the theater for the next 2 months or so.
No substantial updates since last month, but IMAX tickets are on sale for next month’s re-releases of Rolling Stones: Live at the Max and The Shining, so we now know the updated capacity for IMAX, at least!
As long as it remains an ICE Immersive auditorium, it should keep its existing seats, which are back-reclining deluxe leather seats with charging capabilities (USB and wireless)
Auditoriums 2-4 have been upgraded to recliners. Auditorium 1 (Premiere Cinema, soon to be IMAX) is the only one still closed, but I’ve heard that they’re hoping to re-open it in time for Avatar: Fire and Ash (releasing December 19th)
Theater name is now Regal Bistro at The Falls.
It re-opened today. Currently only operating with 4 screens.
