Cinecon returns to the Egyptian

Kentucky drive-in theaters see popularity rise again
According the the Daily Journal, some Kentucky drive-ins have been getting better and better business the past decade. Their argument is that the drive-in provides some advantages that a regular theater can’t provide nowadays.

SIFF to reopen Uptown
SEATTLE, WA — After closing last year, the Uptown Cinemas will reopen in October under the new management of the Seattle International Film Festival. The three-screen theatre built in 1926 will now have year round programming by the Festival with some digital capabilities as well.

Park Theatre restoration moves closer to reality
JAFFREY, NH — Thanks to support from all over the area, the Park Theatre is closer to reopening after years in darkness. It will still be at least a year before construction begins but they are well on their way to raising the millions needed for the work.

Fridge Mountain provides temporary theater
LONDON, ENGLAND — When a place traditionally a dumping ground for old refrigerators needed to be cleaned up for the 2012 Olympics, some volunteers decided it would be a neat opportunity to create a temporary movie theater there.
